GRADE CHART VS.
AWARENESS/TONE LEVEL

One of the major errors of the "Church" of Scientology is the Grade Chart,
which is basically CRAP. From the very start, it violates the Auditor's Code
by evaluating for the client and telling him what to put his attention on,
rather than letting him tell you what his attention is already on, and
consequently needs handling.

It PREVENTS the client from dealing with spiritual entities/ demons/ body
thetans/ voices/ [whatever you call them] until he gets onto OT3. Before
that he is *not allowed* to talk to them, because "Ron" says he's not able
to, and if he tries . . . he will die [conveniently ignoring the fact that
yogis, Christians, etc., have been dealing with them for thousands of years,
with various degrees of success]. When he eventually gets to OT3 [often
suffering badly from by-passed-case at every moment], he is told [evaluated]
what is wrong with him/them, and how to handle them.

The fact that many brand new clients walk in talking to/with/about the voices
in their heads and want to deal with them immediately is simply inconvenient
to the grade-chart-indoctrinated auditor or case supervisor, so the the
client is hung out to dry because his case doen't fit the theory. The fact
that, per "standard" theory, the client couldn't be "PTS" ["potential trouble
source" or "roller coaster"] to the voices in his head if he wasn't
out-ethics to them in present time, [currently committing overts or crimes
against them], is ignored by the also-"standard' dogma that the client can't
deal with entities until OT3.

The fact that voices in your head can be handled with simple
two-way-communication is simply not-ised by the entire organization, because
it's simple, and there is no hocus-pocus money in it.

The Grade Chart also sets up an ABSURD case-status pecking order, [which has
curious ramifications within the bizarre sociology of the "church"], where the
more "grades" you have done, the "higher" your case level. What crap! Anyone
who has ever known any "OT's" or, better yet, "NOTS Case Completions" can tell
you that sanity is NOT attainable within the church.

And what about the fact that many people spin in futher and further, as cases
and as lives, the more time they spend in the church and the "higher" their
"case level"? These facts doen't quite fit with the theory. . . so the
"church" ignores them.

The lower grades ARE an interesting way to analyze how case hangs together.
There are many fascinating relationships revealed by that theoretical
dissection. However, it really has nothing to do with HOW or in WHAT ORDER a
case comes apart, or WHAT the client needs to handle.

NOTS appears primarily to be LRH's desperate and very unsuccessful attempt to
run out his [?cocaine induced?] parasitosis "germs" crawling around under his
skin and "making him" [total effect] a violent shrieking paranoid dangerous
wildly motivating lunatic. The upper levels of the grade chart are more an
exploration of his own geometrically expanding psychosis than anything to do
with the client.

The typical "big win" of the scientology "OT" or preclear is down around GLEE
[-8.0, mystery] or ELATION [-6, sex] on the scales, which is down below [i.e.
solidly in] HALLUCINATION [-4, symbols]. Maybe someone could explain to me
the case benefit of having the client telepathically audit body thetans or
entities when HE [the "auditor"] is wildly hallucinating the entire time?

Don't misunderstand me, I don't discount telepathic communication at all.
It's very real. On the other hand, it's totally unreliable from people
solidly mired in halluciantion, and certainly is NOT going to the the key
that "unlocks" their case . . . or even the toothbrush that polishes all 500
dump-covered square miles of it.

The basic lesson of the ever more byzantine, complex, corrupt and useless
grade chart is that, whatever your attention is on and you need to handle,
you have to do 241 other expensive lengthy things FIRST. YOU *CAN'T* BE HERE
NOW . . . YOU HAVE TO GO ALL OVER *THERE* FIRST!

The best use of the "Grade Chart" is toilet paper.

On the other hand, there IS an incredibly useful tool in Scientolgy which
exactly evaluates case status: the tone scale and other charts. Only two of
those scales have been fully aligned withing the technical realm of the
church, but ALL of them have been aligned into one Universal Scale or
Comprehensive Chart, available as a free download from Gods Church.

Any single scale can be used as a valid objective measurement of case/tone
level.    Putting them all together in alignment simply allows much easier and
much more accurate assessment and prediction than can be done with any one
scale in isolation. Sometimes it is easy to spot the client on one scale . .
. sometimes on another. The cross-referencing alows you to immediately
translate a "Yes, there!" assessment on one scale to other scales and other
aspects of existence.

The point, however, is that this is NOT used to determine WHAT to run on the
client. The client tells you what he is looking at, and looks at it until he
is looking at something else. The scales let you and the client keep track
of where he is, and what to expect him to be looking at next, but they don't
pick a process for you.

The Universal Clearing Process is so simple, and consequently so comprensive,
that you don't need to go through an inventory of hundreds of processes to
deal with the client's case. You don't have to list and null "What process
should I run today?" to the correct item as the first step of your agenda.
The daily plan is simply: keep looking. The one simple underlying
meta-process lets the client deal with anything his attention is on.

True case status has nothing to do with years in any church, auditing hours,
money spent, "levels" completed, "confidential material", or any other
hallucinatory crap. It is purely and simply the clients awareness level. UCP
even moderately competently done will steadily raise that tone level, whatever
it is. THAT IS YOUR ONLY TRUE CASE PROGRESS.

I KNOW OF NO FASTER OR MORE CERTAIN WAY TO
ACHIEVE IT THAN THE UNIVERSAL CLEARING PROCESS.
