THE NOBUL PRIZE: ZECHARIA
SITCHIN; GLOBAL HISTORY AND RELIGION
|
A linguist, sumerian scholar and archeologist, his primary sources are the sumerian clay tablets and other relics of the ancient world. He has accomplished the absolutely astonishing feat of reassembling the history of our planet from the records and artifacts of those who knew it much better than we do: the ancient Sumerians and those who learned from them.
If you can't readily answer these
kinds of questions, then you REALLY need to read Sitchin:
Who were the Nefilim
mentioned in Genesis? [Hint, "giants" is a complete mistranslation.]
Who were the godS who created us?
What does "in OUR image" mean?
How were we created?
What were we created from?
Why were we created?
Why were we put in the garden of eden?
Whose garden was it?
What major errors do the evolutionists make?
What major errors to the creationists make?
What elements of each position are true according to both ancient historians and DNA
analysis?
Whose calender do the Jews use today?
What happened in 3760 bc, and why did they start the calendar then?
How did the "divine right of kings" come about?
Where did most of our major religions come from?
What do most major religions have in common?
Which much older and longer books are the old testament books based on?
What was edited and removed from the original sources in creating the bible?
Why was this done?
Why was knowledge of astronomy more advanced 5,000 years ago than 100 years ago?
Why are the ancient monuments in the new world similar to those of the middle east?
Why is it unsurprising to find artifacts from 900 AD in Arizona, with Latin and Hebrew
inscriptions.
Why is it unsurprising to find rocks with parallel Celtic and Hebrew inscriptions in North
America.
What were the Jews "chosen" for?
To think that you understand our planetary history without reading Sitchin is like thinking you understand a television set because you have taken it apart and looked at the parts, sorted according to color . . . without knowing what electricity is, that you are supposed to plug the tv into a power source, and that there should be a transmitter somewhere sending it information. You can look at the discarded parts, but you really don't have a clue about the overall situation.
Basically, Sitchin's amazingly novel thesis is that perhaps the original earth historians of record [the Sumerians, and their later derivatives, since any surviving pre-deluge records are still missing] might just possibly actually have known a little bit about what they were reporting, and we can't just dismiss all their incredibly detailed and consistent history as "myth". Perhaps, just possibly, shrill smug self-satisfied contemporary historians and archeologists DON'T know more about what happened many thousands of years ago than the highly educated and intelligent people who actually were there and lived through it. Perhaps their written record is more accurate that our hysterically-asserted self-serving ego-centric theories. [Now there's a revolutionary thought!]
Extensive analysis of original clay tablets reveals an amazingly detailed and consistent history. Examination of the archeological record of cities, temples, buildings, artifacts, and other records ALL OVER THE PLANET supports these early historians with extraordinary evidence, much of it dismissed and ignored as "anomalous" by contemporary "experts". Later versions of the original stories, such as the heavily edited political rewrites of the books of the bible, still contain enormous amounts of very detailed, consistent and verifiable information.
Once you understand the overall planetary history, and the people and motivations which created it, then you have a vastly different picture of who we are and what is going on here than is possible without that absolutely vital information. People who think they have studied history without confronting Sitchin are, very bluntly, naive and delusional. The importance of his contribution to history is roughly comparable to that of the Unified Field Theory in the science of physics. [Einstein couldn't find it, but Steven Rado did in his spare time, see Nobul Prize: Steven Rado.]
To be sure, there are other people who have picked up on Sitchin's work and gotten his total global picture who are working and publishing independently. Some of them are criticizing, expanding or filling in his conclusions. So you can get some of the picture from reading others, but he is the one who originally painted the BIG PICTURE, not just with the broad brush of theory, but with many thousands of minute interlocking details. No one I have read had credibly attacked him on anything but minor issues, until Ian Lawton's Refutation of Sitchin's Claims, dated 01May2000, and linked below. Usually his critics just huff and puff and call him names, dismissing him as "obviously absurd" or a "crackpot" . . . because they can't begin to attack his mountains of irrefutable evidence. His overall thesis is astoundingly detailed, consistent, convincing in many aspects, and answers countless questions that no one else has advanced ANY even remotely credible explanations for, even with his possibly serious flaws. Read him first, then read his critics and proteges. I learned MUCH more useful history from his 9 books than all the other books I have read in the last 40 years.
His world view is enormously important to understand and interpret current events in their REAL CONTEXT . . . which is totally unknown to most historians and archeologists.
To be sure, his work is certainly not without error. In fact, his recent book Divine Encounters in some ways directly recants the thesis of the first five books, and is an unapologetic regurgitation of the bastardized old testament version of history . . . which he already long ago analyzed as deliberate lies and propaganda for political and colonial purposes. On the other hand, he gives you plenty of information in the first five books to figure out why he might have been forced to recant, and by who.
Of course, he doesn't SAY he is racanting, but the act is clearly there. He phrases his direct about-face as an "extension" or "exception" to his thesis. Other historians such as Alan Alford have picked up on this and quite properly challenged this glaring inconsistency. Galileo recanted too, but does than mean he was an unreliable idiot and the sun actually goes around the earth?

Ian Lawton's Refutation of Sitchin's Claims, dated 01May2000. This is a very important chapter in the Sitchin
Claims Saga. Lawton is the FIRST critic of Sitchin I have seen who is methodical,
logical, scholarly, and very credible in his very specific attacks on some of Sitchin's
theories. Much as I like Sitchin and am extremely impressed with his theories
[as Ian also was] I have to admit that some of Ian's criticisms are devastating. He
confirms some of the questions/suspicions that I had, and and raises many new ones.
He does not at all destroy Sitchin's theory of human life being a product of
extra-terrestrial gene manipulation, but he annihilates some of Sitchins claims upon which
it is based. His work takes the entire Sitchin hypothesis to a new level of
scholarship, and means that his entire body of work needs to be re-evaluated to see what
stands and what does not. I highly recommend this
link to anyone who reads Sitchin's books . . . which I also
continue to recommend, but with some reservations I did not have before. It's sad to
see that Sitchin apparently "fudged" his evidence, which does not invalidate his
basic hypothesis, but forces us to inspect ALL the evidence once again..

topics. A excellent short introduction.

A very long and thoroughly excellent paper delivered by Neil Freer at the first
International Association For New Science Conference, Denver, October 1996 [Sitchin

[Book Tree, 1996]. He deals not only with some of the profound philosophical issues
which Sitchin raises, but with some of the scientific arguments and evidence for and
against Sitchin's thesis. Carefully reasoned. Highly recommended.

First article in the Nexus Magazine three
part series "The Hidden History of Jesus and the Holy Grail" by the eminent
genealogist and historian, Sir Laurence Gardner, Kt St Gm., KCD, KT St A. This
series based on his book Bloodline of the Holy Grail deals with Jesus and the
House of Judah in the British Isles in the first century AD, and relates the early
christian tradition of female priests into the older religious tradtions. While the
Christian period and events are not discussed at all by Sitchin, [I have the impression
he'd rather die than comment or speculate upon them], Gardner comments on many areas
relating to Sitchin's work, particularly the enormous importance of lineage in the older
tradtions and how it was deliberately corrupted and obscured by the later Roman Christian
church. Very highly recommended. Nexus Magazine is a fantastic resource for many kinds of
information.
