This link contains gif images of physical pages actually handed out by Richard McKeon to his students many years ago.   This is the data EXACTLY as he formatted and distributed it.  It takes a LONG time to load, but you can start on the first page while the rest are being tranmitted.   There are text versions of this same document at this web site, but this photographic version will continue to serve as the reference standard.  NOTE WELL: many of the words in this paper are NOT in the dictionary.  You will need to determine their meanings by reconstructing them from their latin and greek roots . . . just as Mr. McKeon originally created them.

OVERSIZE CHART HERE.  The chart on page 13 is the HEART of the McKeon's semantic system.  IT IS THE KEY!  When you have read and reread the paper enough time to start to understand the chart and what it represents . . . then you are making REAL progress.  It's not easy.  In fact, it is extremely difficult to stretch you mind to encompass the enormity of what he is discussing.  It is also enormously important if you are interested in philosophical rigor and flexibility.
